What Should you Study to Pass the Scrum Master II (PSM II)?
Preparing for the Professional Scrum Master™ II (PSM II) certification requires more than memorizing the Scrum framework — it tests your ability to apply Scrum in real-world, complex environments. Here’s what you need to study:
1. Master the Scrum Guide
The Scrum Guide is the foundation of all Scrum certifications. To succeed in PSM II, you must fully understand (Read the Scrum Guide at least 5 times):
-
Scrum roles and their accountabilities
-
Scrum events and artifacts
-
The Definition of Done
-
Scrum values and the principles of empiricism

2. Understand the Scrum Master’s Role in Depth
The PSM II exam focuses on the real-world responsibilities of a Scrum Master:
-
Coaching Developers, Product Owners, and stakeholders
-
Removing impediments
-
Leading organizational change
-
Encouraging self-management and cross-functional collaboration
